Jennifer Pineda, MA, LAC is a Licensed Associate Counselor at ITI-NJ. She earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from William Paterson University. She earned her Bachelor of Art in Psychology from Rutgers University-Newark. Jennifer is working under a licensed clinical supervisor at ITI-NJ to obtain required supervised hours needed to become a Licensed Professional Counselor.
Before joining ITI-NJ, Jennifer worked at a community mental health center, providing both short-term psychoeducation and long-term psychotherapy to adolescents struggling with problematic sexual and fire-setting behaviors. She also has extensive experience helping adolescents and young adults navigate a wide range of therapeutic challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and interpersonal issues. Jennifer has facilitated individual, parent, and family therapy sessions, and has co-led group therapy in both English and Spanish.
Jennifer’s treatment philosophy focuses on equipping clients with the tools they need to understand and navigate their challenges. Her approach is client-centered, aiming to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment during difficult times. She draws on a variety of therapeutic techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, to meet each client’s individual needs and help them achieve their goals. Jennifer is under the supervision of Suzy Takvorian, LPC.
