Rivka Nachum, LCSW, CTP is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned her graduate degree from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, and an undergraduate degree in behavioral science from Bellevue University.
Rivka’s professional experience includes individual, group, and family therapy with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of diverse settings. She specializes in trauma, substance abuse, addiction, anxiety, depression, intimacy and personality disorders. As a certified trauma professional (CTP), Rivka approaches her clinical practice with warmth, compassion, and cultural sensitivity to support clients in processing trauma, identifying and gaining insight into their unconscious reactions, emotions, and attachments, and gently challenging and replacing unhelpful beliefs that stand in the way of achieving their goals. She aims to empower and encourage her clients on their journey by focusing on affirming their strengths, releasing shame, and exploring and modeling realistic and healthy coping skills.
Rivka believes in the importance of integrating multiple disciplines to most effectively meet a person’s individual needs. Her therapeutic style interweaves tenets of relational, attachment, and psychodynamic theories with CBT, DBT, and somatic approaches, including inner child work. She is also well-versed in 12-step recovery principles.
