Biography for Kristin Justice, LAC

Kristin Justice, MS, MA, NCC, LAC has earned a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Monmouth University & a Master of Arts degree in Psychological Services from Kean University. She is a Licensed Associate Counselor in New Jersey & Nationally Certified Counselor.

Kristin has had the privilege of providing therapeutic services as a student intern at Tully House’s residential inmate re-entry program in Newark, NJ, a hospice care facility in New Orleans, La and Children’s Transitional Residential Center (in home psychiatric residence) with Rutgers University. Prior to joining ITINJ, Kristin worked as a therapist at a telehealth therapy private practice in NJ. Kristin has over 10 years of experience working in various Human Resource capacities as well as serving as an Adjunct Professor at Monmouth University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling Master’s Program. Kristin has also had the opportunity of co- authoring a chapter for a counseling textbook published by Routledge in 2023 on the importance of research and using evidence-based practices in clinical work.

Kristin is passionate about her work as a therapist. She is eager and committed to supporting, encouraging, and empowering individuals to live a life of wholeness while also bringing awareness of the importance of emotional, spiritual & mental health. Kristin has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families addressing a wide range of emotional and mental health issues including, but not limited to anxiety, depression, stress management & burnout, life transitions, grief counseling, trauma informed care and career counseling support. Kristin’s counseling style is not a one size fits all and works to incorporate various modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Person Centered approaches, Mindfulness, Strength-based approaches, Acceptance Therapy and Grief counseling. It is very important to Kristin to create a therapeutic atmosphere where clients feel seen, heard, and supported. Kristin works to provide a safe space for clients where healing is an ongoing process that feels possible, where strength meets empowerment, where rest is encouraged and focusing on your needs is essential for not just surviving in life but where clients also feel like they are thriving. Kristin is under the supervision of Belinda Amatekpor, LPC.
