Coren Karpati, MA, LSW, is a Licensed Social Worker who earned her graduate degree from New York University. She has an undergraduate degree in psychology from Montclair State University. She is gaining supervised experience under a Licensed Clinical Social Worker to obtain the required hours to become an LCSW.
Coren has experience in diverse clinical settings, including intensive in-community counseling and school-based therapy services. She has worked with various populations including children, young adults, individuals with autism, and people within the LGBTQ+ community. Coren will also be pursuing her certification in sex therapy in the near future.
Coren structures her therapy sessions like a real conversation with a real person so her patients feel comfortable in meetings with her. She has an integrative approach utilizing a blend of theoretical frameworks including Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Stance Theory. Coren’s goal in treatment is to support her patients in developing a positive internal relationship with themselves so they can make healthy choices and move through life in a way that facilitates growth and long-lasting positive change. She also helps her patients acquire the necessary skills to manage life’s challenges through a strength-based approach. She is also wholly committed to creating a relaxing, friendly, non-judgmental environment to support her patients’ therapeutic journey. Coren is under the supervision of Juhi Patel, LCSW.
