Meera Bhatt, LPC is licensed by the NJ State Board of Marriage and Family Therapy as a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has a degree in Applied Clinical Psychology from William Paterson University and has more than 14 years of experience treating a variety of different clinical populations.
Meera is trained in psychological first aid and has participated in crisis intervention outreach to schools, conducted by the Traumatic Loss Coalition of NJ. She has also trained with the Multicultural Family Institute of Highland Park and has received training in several different approaches to trauma treatment. Meera also has experience working at a Women’s Program PHP/IOP and has supervised children’s services as a Youth Case Manager Supervisor.
Adopting an integrative approach to therapy, Meera utilizes cognitive behavioral, client-centered, and compassion-focused modalities. In treatment, she focuses her efforts towards building a strong, open, and trusting relationship with her clients. She has extensive experience treating a variety of clinical issues including anxiety, depression, stress management, parenting issues/concerns, as well as family conflict. She has a gentle approach which helps clients to focus on their strengths and clarify their treatment goals. Meera’s areas of expertise also include high risk populations, women, adolescents, and clients of diverse cultural backgrounds.
