The Integrative Therapy Institute of New Jersey (ITI-NJ) is a group practice in clinical and counseling psychology providing psychotherapy for individuals, families, and relationships. It was founded in 2012 by Dr. Thomas Blake Hollenbach and Dr. Edward Callaghan, both of whom are licensed clinical psychologists.
Dr. Hollenbach developed Comprehensive Integrative Psychotherapy, the treatment approach that is used and taught at ITI-NJ, and is the Director of the Institute. Dr. Callaghan is the Director of Child Services. The staff includes over twenty additional licensed clinicians, offering a variety of different specialties to the practice. You may read their individual profiles in Our Staff. We operate at two locations in New Jersey, one in Metuchen and the other in Montclair.
ITI-NJ serves adults, children and adolescents, and families. We offer individual psychotherapy, marriage and couples counseling, parent counseling, specialized treatment of math phobia, classes in mindfulness meditation, and psychological testing and evaluation. All of our services are confidential. We also provide training and supervision for psychotherapists. Please see Our Services page for details.
The Institute was founded not just to serve clients but also to teach and train other therapists in Comprehensive Integrative Psychotherapy or CIP. CIP's treatment model incorporates elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychoanalysis, and counseling, and the theoretical model combines insights from CBT, psychoanalysis, neuroscience, and evolutionary psychology. Dr. Hollenbach is the author of the website materials, except where otherwise noted.
